چکیده
conclusions we observed upper limit values of the normal range for mg in the atl cases which may not be neglected from a clinical point of view. the other measurements did not show a remarkable difference with normal levels. introduction adult t‐cell leukemia (atl) is a rare neoplasm of post-thymic lymphocytes observed in only 3% - 4% of patients infected with human t-lymphotropic virus (htlv-1). the exact mechanism by which htlv-1 triggers atl is still under investigation. htlv‐i is endemic in specific regions of the world including mashhad, iran, where the present study was performed. case presentation the current paper reports serum levels of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus as the main traced elements as well as parathormone (pth) in five patients with atl referred to imam reza hospital in mashhad, iran, in 2014.

Diffuse normolipemic plane Xanthoma in adult T-cell lymphoma/leukemia: A case report
Diffuse normolipemic plane xanthoma is a rare disorder often seen as a para-neoplastic manifestation accompanied with gammopathies and hematologic disorders. In this report, a 44-year-old man is presented who was referred to us due to developing erythematous papules on the hands and yellow patches on different parts of the body. Based on cell blood count, peripheral blood smear and positive ant...

Abstract Background: Adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) is caused by human T-cell lymphotropic virus type-1 (HTLV-1). HTLV-1 oncogenes can induce malignancy through controlled gene expression of cell cycle checkpoints in the host cell. HTLV-I genes play a pivotal role in overriding cell cycle checkpoints and deregulate cellular division. In this study, we aimed to determine and comp...
متن کاملSpecific cutaneous manifestations in adult T cell leukemia/lymphoma
Background and aim: Adult T cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) is an aggresive malignancy which may occur in human T lymphotropic virus1(HTLV1) infected persons. HTLV1 is endemic in Khorasan with prevalence of 2.3% in general population. Since specific cutaneous manifestations of lymphoma may occur in a significant number of patients, we studied ATLL patients in Mashhad.Mate...
متن کاملAbsence of FLT3 mutations in Iranian adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma patients
Background: Adult T cell leukemia lymphoma (ATLL) is a rare disease, significantly linked to the infection by the human T-cell lymphotropic virus 1(HTLV-1). ATLL is typically preceded by decades of clinical latency during which infected cells accumulate selectable traits leading to a malignant transformation. Amongst all the HTLV-1 infected carriers only about 3-5% will develop ATLL. Despite th...
متن کاملAdult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma accompanying follicular mucinosis: a case report with review of the literature.
Follicular mucinosis is recognized as one of the histopathological reaction patterns characterized by the accumulation of mucin within follicular epithelium. It is induced by various causes including inflammatory diseases, and more than half of the cases are associated with malignant lymphoma, mainly mycosis fungoides. Herein, we describe the third documented case of adult T-cell leukemia/lymph...
متن کاملAdult T-Cell Leukemia/Lymphoma with CLL-Like Morphology—A Case Report
Adult T-cell Leukemia/Lymphoma (ATL) is rarely seen in the U.S. and Europe, usually limited to African Americans from the southeastern U.S. and immigrants from HTLV-1 endemic areas. Reaching an accurate and timely diagnosis of ATL in such nonendemic areas can be challenging, owing to limited exposure, diverse manifestations, and varying cell morphology. We present a case of chronic adult T-cell...
